The next 4 weeks
After I get my stitches out next week I’ll write up ideas on how to stay well, keep your mind right, and the journey I’ve gone through. I'll also discuss what boots and accessories I used along the journey of these 6 weeks.
Got questions, ask away.
My right foot, 2015
I wanted to wait a year between feet because of work, and the fact that I needed to drive.
My right foot hammer toe surgery was done on January 20, 2015. Similarly to my left foot I needed my hammer toes corrected from toes two through five. All first joints needed to be fused together, with the top tendons lengthened, and a shaving of the bone by the ball of my foot.
The third toe needed a double fusing of both joints in the toe.
This surgery was also done in about 90 minutes, and my toes are pinned straight with about 4 inch long K wires for the next 6 weeks.
Here's some pics!

My left foot, one year later
So I had my left foot hammertoe surgery on January 14, 2014. It was for toes two through five, with all toes first knuckle to be removed and fused, the top tendons lengthened, and a slight shaving of the bone by the ball of my foot. All of this was done in about a 90 minute surgery, and the toes would be pinned straight for 6 weeks with K-Wires.
Look out for some slightly NSFW pictures…
They are not for the weak of heart, or stomach…
You have been warned, hehe...
1 Week 3 Days...
Hello all, so it's been one week and three days since I've had my surgery. Yesterday I had my dressing changed and everything looks good. Next week I'll be going in to get my stitches removed.
In the first week I had developed strep the day after my surgery, and double eye pink eye the next four days following. So it's been a fun ride.
I'll post pictures of the left foot that was done last year, 2014, and some info about it. Then I'll post some pics of the current right foot, and share some tips.
